Learning to Grow Has 5 rooms that can facilitate children up through 12 years old. We have a playground, huge courtyard, and tons of outside toys and bikes for children to play with. Our curriculum is excellent and utilizes hands on learning techniques. Our daily schedule is child led and includes dress-up, building blocks, music and movement, art projects, books, kitchen sets, puzzles and much more.
Deirdre O’Dowd started Learning to Grow because she saw the need for quality childcare for all children, especially children with behavioral/developmental needs that were not supported by typical childcare centers. Deirdre has provided licensed in-home childcare a combined total of 10 years before recently expanding to a childcare center.
Deirdre is an adoptee and was an HCTC (therapeutic) foster parent for 7 years. She has 2 biological children and has adopted 4 children that were foster placements in her home. Deirdre has worked as a foster parent trainer for 10 years and has worked as a licensing worker and behavioral support specialist for 6 years. Deirdre has been an advocate for foster/kinship/adoptive families for many years in the community.
Our goal at Learning to Grow is to provide love and opportunity for every child. We do our best to work with any student and provide resources and assistance to families or students in need of extra help.
Learning to Grow is a Quality First school and currently holds a 3 star rating! We are very proud of this but continue to grow as a school and as teachers to achieve our very best.
